More February::::
After hardly any snow all winter we had a great blizzard at the end of February -- Leap Day actually. It made for a lot of shoveling, sledding, and just plain fun. We went up to check on the cabin a few days earlier.

Berit standing in the sauna |
 |
She did not want to cooperate... |
 |
Possibly because she was worn out. |
 |
Sometimes sledding and snow is the perfect way to nap |
And then the real snow showed up!!
 |
We walked all the way to the golf course for sledding and then came home to shovel...it was great |
March::::
And then it got unseasonably hot! And all of the snow melted, and we had to go play at the playground instead.
 |
Wearing sneakers outside? Awesome! |
 |
Sliding is much like sledding |
 |
Very exciting |
 |
In the fall, we could swing together. Now, Bear is too old to sit on her momma's lap in the swing |
And one week later, it is even hotter! We were sweating. It was over 70 degrees! I am not kidding. In March. In Duluth. What?
 |
So we finally repotted the crowded house plants. |
 |
Bear was a good helper, but would not share, so I had to find dirt somewhere else, and use my hands |
 |
She took it very seriously and was prepared to work all day |
So that's it. The regular camera won't upload to the computer. The new camera is so fancy that I only use the blackberry crappy camera, which I also can't figure out how to upload. This is all terribly disappointing and frustrating. I have fallen down on the job and it will only get harder as Berit moves more and as the family grows.
Berit is hilarious. She loves being the center of attention and entertaining her audience.
She dances, jumps, hops, runs, skips, plays the harmonica, stacks dog bowls, throws out garbage, changes laundry from washer to dryer, puts dirty clothes in hampers, takes off your hat for you, puts away keys, puts away clean dishes, brings you your shoes, and is obsessed with boots (cowboy, mud, winter -- any are great).
She curls her forehead with my eyelash curler, puts blush on her hair, puts lotion on her belly and hangs up her washcloth.
Berit talks, but has choice words, unfortunately the current favorites are "no" and "mine" -- we are working on it. She pats my belly and says baby, but sometimes she does that to her own belly. She says funny things, like gosh, and oh geez. We are going to have to start watching what we say...
She eats pretty well usually, and is quite adventurous in her food. Hummus is great for dipping, pizza is still a favorite, rice and couscous and popcorn are always hits. She eats apple slices like cantaloupe slices, leaving the skin on as a rind.
Bear continues to love her new daycare, despite her recent head injury from "vigorous dancing" --- it was mainly a gigantic lump and bruise, no real concerns yet. They spend a lot of time learning and even more time playing outside or in the gym. During this amazing spring/summer weather she has spent as much as three or four hours outside. You can't beat that for a great childcare experience.
I make no promises or predictions about the next update's timeliness. Sorry.
